Famous Food by the Region

Indian food is different from rest of the world in taste and cooking methods. It’s a mixture of various cultures. Just like the Indian culture, food in India has also been influenced by diverse civilization. Foods of India are better known for its spiciness. Spices are an essential part of food preparation and are used to enrich the flavor of a dish.  Precise use and blending of the aromatic spices is the key to good preparation of Indian cuisine.

Northern Region

In the northern region of India, flat breads are frequently eaten. Northern India is known for some of the world’s finest vegetarian cuisine. Tourists to northern India can treat themselves in the region’s highly specific vegetarian dishes.

Southern Region

The immense coastline regions and tropical climate of southern India was an inspiration to the region’s cuisine. Food in this area tends to be spicier than in other parts of India. Due to the coastal area, the seafood dishes are the best here.The South Indian rice pancakes and steamed rice cake are made of fermented rice and lentil, are popular throughout the area.

Eastern Region

India’s eastern region is known for the best dessert-style sweets and cakes. Dishes in this region are lighter and cooked with fewer spices than in the northern or southern regions. Mustard oil is used to cook. A tour is incomplete without tasting the desserts in this area.
